Here Is The Thing

Sometimes you find a wonderful window to sleep in, with a wide wide sill and the sun coming in, and you can sleep so well in it.
You forget it’s a window.  You forget you’re asleep. You sleep, sleep, sleep, and you dream of running, and jumping, and doing everything you know how to do, and before [...]

Cat Smarts: Kisses

If you go to kiss them and they smell like meat, remember, they are not meat.  They just ate meat.  Don’t bite, you’ll both be sorry.

I’m Sure You’ve Wondered

Since there are people among you who would like to be cats, are there those among us who have learned to be human?
Yes.  Here is one of them, the quintessential feral tom; difficult, noisy, claws and teeth pointy and sharp and used often, and yet — just enough kitten left to make him roll over [...]

Thunder! Lightning!

You know, I can still jump pretty well.  Maybe I’m not that old.

A Conundrum

The leaves fell off one of my oak trees, so there could be new leaves — but now the mama flier in the nest in the tree is all visible.   She is sitting as still as one of us, trying to be invisible.  I am watching in case someone decides to bother her.  I don’t [...]

It’s Not My Fault. . .

. . . that I didn’t post yesterday.  I’m not going to say whose.  Just that it’s Not Mine.

It’s The First Day of Spring

Does that mean it’s not broken any more?

Cat Smarts: Noises

Here is something you need to know — the more humans, the more noise.  They don’t mean to be noisy, they just are.  I don’t think they ever had to catch food.   If they did, they’d be quieter.
Try not to jump when they make noises, it makes them laugh and that’s embarrassing.

I Was Going To Roll On The Shamrocks

But the little man who lives in them told me not to.
